Do you start with CPR or AED defibrillation?

 If an AED is present, give priority to defibrillation with the AED before continuing CPR. First aid "golden 4 minutes"! For every minute defibrillation is delayed, survival is reduced by 7 to 10 percent. Early and effective use of CPR and AED is the most effective means to rescue patients with cardiac and respiratory arrest.

If the AED is not nearby, designate personnel to fetch the AED and immediately give CPR to the patient until the AED arrives.

During CPR, if the AED arrives in the middle of the CPR, you can continue to do chest compressions without affecting the attachment of the electrode, and another person can help to attach the electrode. After the attachment, listen to the voice prompts for operation, do not touch the patient and wait for the analysis result.

What are the precautions for using AED?

1. If you cannot determine the age of the child, use the adult mode (without delaying defibrillation). If the child has a small chest, the electrodes may overlap. In this case, one electrode is placed on the child's chest and the other on the child's back. Make sure the electrodes are not touching each other. If the child is over 8 years old or weighs more than 25KG, it can be treated as an adult model.

2. Do not touch the patient when analyzing the heart rhythm during the process, and do not touch the patient when preparing to discharge the charge.

3. If the patient has water or sweat stains on the chest, wipe them dry before sticking the electrode.

4. Do not use AEDs on conductive surfaces such as water or metals.

The association conducts BLS (Basic Life Support), HeartSaver (Cardiac Rescue), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) training worldwide to promote CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) techniques and other rescue skills.
At present, the American Heart Association is promoting HS-HeartSaver Heart Safety and First Aid in China, which is suitable for the general public without any medical background to learn and train. The aim is to promote the popularity of emergency rescue and CPR for common emergencies among medical professionals and the public.
Registration requirements: All over 12 years old can participate in the study.
Fee standard: training is basically 500~1200 yuan.Training contents: First aid basics, such as first aid principles, objectives, procedures, telephone help, finding patients' problems, knowledge of related common first aid problems, AED (automated external defibrillator) and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) application
Training time: 1~2 days
Validity of the certificate: two years - at the end of this period, the AED (Automated External Defibrillator), an important first aid device for cardiac arrest, must be re-certified by the accrediting agency.
